It's not about race for me. I don't know about anybody else. I haven't specified any borders, or which borders, because I think the concern, and any solutions, should be overall issue-oriented, and it shouldn't matter who's involved. People care more about non-Canadian borders because the problem is either worse, or perceived to be worse, in other places. That's just how news/news value and interest goes.

Carr and anybody else would include immigration status of Hispanics, ESPECIALLY if they've been arrested, as a point of fact, a point of interest, and a point of clarification and perspective in a time when immigration and border issues are particularly sensitive and inflammatory, and therefore, important. Again, it's a news issue, part of the story. Sure, it'd be nice if it didn't have to be, but that's not the case, thanks specifically to all the border issues.

 

I'd go along with that...

 

And turn in those that hire them.

I believe Democrats would agree to border security measures and stringent deportation of the truly repugnant in exchange for green cards and true pathways to citizenship.

The conservative branch of the Republican Party will never, ever agree to such a compromise. This has played out numerous times over the last 15 years.
