Although this does set up Hillary Clinton as the Texas Longhorns, and that’s a pretty good match on the hubris-vs-results spectrum.

But Kansas football fans aren’t going up to Notre Dame fans and trying to dunk on them. They aren’t making up fables that Kansas football really won the national championship last season; they aren’t yelling at Notre Dame for not selecting a Black coach when their coach is a racist moron; they aren’t alleging that Notre Dame is cheating when it’s owns players are driving Ferraris and can’t recite the alphabet.

Kansas fans also aren't making an armed attempt to storm the Golden Dome and rub feces all over the building's interior.

This is really true, the part about why Trump lost.

One of my brothers and I, neither of whom voted for or supported Trump, particularly by the time his term ended, were talking once about this after Biden won. And we were both thinking and saying that, you know what? All Trump had to do was to have acted even a little bit more professional and presidential, and he probably would've won again. For real.

Biden, while not perfect and definitely showing his age at times, has been a refreshing, wonderful, much-needed change in that respect.

    Unemployment is down.
    The deficit is lower.
He got the infrastructure bill passed.
He got the Covid relief bill passed.
    We’re out of Afghanistan.

By what standard is that “Not going well’?

By the standards that worldwide inflation due to demand explosion as the pandemic lightens and the war in Ukraine have resulted in higher gasoline and food prices. This is illogical but is indeed the standard by which Presidents are judged. If life's not perfect, it must be terrible and it's his fault. Applied to every President in my long lifetime. The other standard for "not going well" is that many white Americans again perceive their position at the top of the social status heap as under threat. There's nothing Biden can do about the fact we're a country with a huge percentage of assholes.

Good Tebow, they can't even get a protest right, can they? A thread.

EDIT: And wait until they find out how much she gave to Covid research.

WriteThinking, if he had managed the pandemic with an ounce of foresight, or maturity, or discretion, or any of the number of essentials he lacks as a human being, he would have been re-elected. A theory gaining traction is he lost because he couldn't pull vote from college-educated Americans in the suburbs. But those 'studies' are still incomplete, so who knows. But we know this: the Defeated Loser lost, and he lost by a lot. It wasn't some 70,000-vote margin across three states.

Not unless you assume that both are equally destructive to the country.
One party is trying to terminate American democracy and has flirted for years with a dictator currently committing war crimes. This ain't the time for ponderous reflection on the relative merits of the other party -- the one not trying to kill democracy and not willing to endanger the safety of its 330,000,000 citizens by cuddling with a dictator. This is a time to concentrate on preserving the country, buying time and hoping the klan for which some are apologists will reclaim a semblance of dignity once Trump dies or otherwise disappears from politics.
