Once again, 25 years ago, this dumb bitch was fired from MTV for being both too ugly and too stupid.

    It was, huh?
Ah yes, now I see. Very clear! It's the [insertposter] doctrine! How silly of me to have overlooked that!

Well, well, well, his own private Brownshirts on American soil.

I am sure that will pass federal muster, the fuckhead.

So the guy’s contract expires and he doesn’t re-apply for his job. And he’s a victim when he doesn’t get re-hired.
A football coach has more passive-aggressive control over his flock than any classroom teacher. We all know what the klan in black robes will do here, but they should tell the coach to stick to football.

I tell you what @outofplace ... I know those planning period Twinkies are starting to wear off, so I'll give you a little bit of time. If you can make a reasonable case as to why and how this ...
... is substantially different from this ...
I'll tip my cap and write, without hesitation or qualification, the following sentence: "@outofplace, you are absolutely correct."

Now let me go ahead and alert you to a couple of traps you should avoid.

    1) Many, many, many churches (perhaps the vast majority of 'em) are organized as not-for-profit corporations (e.g., 501(c)(3) entities). They can "meddle" in politics, but there are rules about the extent and kind of "meddling" they can engage in if they want to maintain their not-for-profit status. But they are corporate entities nonetheless. Per the first prong of the @Mngwa Doctrine, however, meddling of any sort is (or should be) disqualifying re: non-profit status.

For example ... the presiding bishop of my denomination had this to say on the first anniversary of Jan. 6: "... Jan. 6 [was] a revelation that there are forces intentionally seeking and working to divide us. Left unchecked, unaddressed, and unhealed, this can lead to the decline and deconstruction of our nation. Such a moment demands moral vision that sees beyond mere self-interest and beholds the common good — a spiritual strength stronger than any sword.”

Pretty damn meddle-y if you ask me.

    2) Merely paying taxes (a la the second prong of the @Mngwa Doctrine) is irrelevant. Plenty of non-profits pay the employer's portion of payroll taxes (although, to be fair, in the end the economics is pretty clear that non-profit employees, like their for-profit brethren, pay both parts of the payroll tax).

The coach was already told to pound sand when SCOTUS declined to hear the case a few years ago. Now that Cocaine Mitch hijacked a favorable court, he's back again.
The fact that this was decided case law in 1962 in Engel vs. Vitale is of no great importance.
