I enjoy watching Steve Schmidt rant on Nicole Wallace but with him and Rick Wilson, you have to keep in mind they worked with swift boaters who harassed John Kerry

 

They were not in Trump's (or Putin's) orbit so no money to be made there. Only money for them is in traditional, more congenial GOP politics (Willie Horton, welfare queens, Kenyan Muslims, black love children, swift boat valor), not MAGA.

They originally worked towards rehabilitating the party's branding as well as their own. The Lincoln Project, Conway, Kristal, etc. like the results but not the means of attaining them. They wanted their party and gravy train back but that is hopeless so now it's cashing in and rehabbing their images while wondering how the left let it get to this.

 

They all thought with their little heads about Sarah Palin and have spent 14 years blaming each other.
