Luttig seemed determined in his delivery to cover himself legally, while not giving a soundbite. Thought it odd that a guy like Eastman, who wasn't on the federal payroll and was simply acting as a partisan fanboy, but with a legal background, was given such "authority." Clearly Trump wanted to hear from people whose opinion he agreed with - but I also think we've come to an age where if you can get a lawyer - any lawyer - and a federal judge to say you can do something - however ludicrous it is - you can deem it as having "legal standing."

And lets not forget that Eastman's career was launched under Clarence Thomas. After law school he clerked for both Luttig and Clarence Thomas. He strikes me as the lawyer you get when any respectable lawyer would turn you down. Fun fact: Eastman is Chair of the Federalist Society's "Federalism and Separation of Powers Practice Group." Hmmm.

Not watching this, to be honest. The useless Kabuki Theater does nothing for me. Get back to me when someone's doing a perp walk.

But Luttig is turning on his protege? Am I reading this correctly?

No one need give this Pale Shelter. As a child or an adult. Think we've all been traumatized enough by MAGA.

Now MAGA can go somewhere else and Shout.

Better yet, make it your Goodbye Song.

Luttig turned out to be like Muller
His speaking style was so halting it ruined any impact his words have

It's Kabuki to be sure. But also kind of bizarre to think our nation has come to this. That our institutions have become so compromised, that we cynically dismiss an accounting of an assault on the Capitol and the Constitution as theater.

Honest question - would it have been better to have just written a big-ass report, release it and have the news media leaf through it highlighting the most damning stuff?

And there is the headline you will see tomorrow: Luttig calls Trump a "clear and present danger" to democracy.
