I'm not sure why the J6 has been dragging their feet about giving these up, unless they're just overwhelmed, but this is why the DoJ is pushing for it. DoJ is saying that they need them for potential and ongoing investigations, but the main reason it's gone active is that they have a case in court regarding a defendant who unexpectedly showed up on video during a J6 hearing. Apparently there's some question of whether he has told two different stories, and either way the government is obligated to give the defense potentially exculpatory testimony.

I don’t doubt Trump thought that way. But once she was on the court, the true believer conservatives didn’t need him any more to get all the goodies they’ve been waiting on from SCOTUS. He made himself disposable by giving them the prize they’d been waiting on for two generations. Hell, maybe somebody pointed that out to Pence and that’s when he dug his spine out of the steamer trunk.

 

Probably should be on the pardon list for crimes as the mayor of Baltimore too (crossthreading).

 

"Feel-bad politics?" I think it's more that want to prevent another Jan. 6 or worse.
