Here's why I think it's plausible. Not likely but plausible. DeathSentence's people are communicating their boy's disdain for Trump. They're not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts or out of a desire to help the libruhl media.

Trump’s likely 2024 opponents must be licking their chops. As Politicorecently reported, an adviser to Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis characterized the hearings as a “continuation of the exhausting circus that surrounds Trump.” The DeSantis adviser insists that big-money donors (who are presumably more rational than the average MAGA conspiratorialist) have become “sick of the s---show.” That helps to explain the anecdotal evidence that DeSantis provides an escape route for Republicans looking for someone “like Trump but less crazy.”

 

If they're "like Trump," they're crazy.

 

We need an agree function on this board. I don't like this, but I absolutely agree with your analysis.

 

If there's anyone who should know all about "so-called journalists," it's Hannity.

 

If Republicans were anything close to functional politicians, they would have realized that everything that made Trump manifestly unfit for the Presidency was present in his under-three-year stint as a USFL owner, let alone the myriad business failures that came afterward. But they ignored it all. Because Trump presented himself as a candidate who hated the same things they did. And that, in turn, makes the vast majority of Republicans unfit for any office.
