I have to clarify: I "like" the idea of indicting Trump and putting him on trial. Because, as you (and I) said, that can't as easily be ignored.

And hopefully, THAT would open some eyes, and get a lot of people reconsidering their views, and votes, and any other actions.

I guess Trump feels confident he won't be indicted before he goes back to Mar-a-Lago this fall. He is in Bedminster.
