As someone who sees two corrupt parties throwing BS rhetoric at people, with the end result being corruption and runaway debt spending?

"Bipartisan cooperation" just means that that they do more harm. They get in cahoots to borrow, buy constituencies by trying to pick winners and losers (even if they pander to different winners and losers). ... and create a much bigger economic crisis. The best outcome for this country is gridlock.

The crazy thing is they put rosey names on these things like "the build back better act," then Joe Manchin acts like Joe Manchin and it's, "He doesn't want to address climate change."

No. If climate change is going to be a priority, we don't need them spending trillions of dollars and treating it like graft. Someone can introduce a bill that outlaws or limits various fuels that release CO2, explain to the American people that 1) they think it is necessary to save the planet, 2) BUT it is going to cost people a ton of money and a decreased standard of living.

At least be honest (and people won't like it, which is why it's all BS) and don't pander with nonsense about it being costless, while you try to buy off constituencies and pawn the immense costs off on others (if you even actually try to address the costs).

From there, whatever alternative energy sources are actually ready for wide spread use and are the most cost efficient will take hold without 49 Senators deciding how we need to corruptly and inefficiently spend trillions of dollars of capital that they don't actually have to spend.

 

Yup .

The non-discretionary entitlements -- social security, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, unemployment -- are now good for a staggering $2+ trillion and growing at an alarming rate.

But when you get to the discretionary items, "defense" is now $800+ billion and they will take it as high as they can. They get little pushback on it, so they see it as something they can treat like a huge slush fund for buying their own power.

Putting aside whether we need it, for the $850 billion they would like to spend, between the interest expenses (in a rising rate environment, something people have forgotten about with the artificialty) and the waste, we will be lucky to get $300 billion worth of true value if the past is prelude to the future.

 

Somehow without "bipartisan cooperation" they magically managed to spend more than $6 trillion this year ($2 trillion of which won't be paid for)

It's broke, dysfunctional and all the other things you said, but for the exact opposite reason of your fantasyland.
