When I was living in North Carolina, I got an absentee voter ballot application from DeSantis.

My congressman is running for his fourth term which means he's just completing 6 years. When he first ran, he was a disabled veteran living in a house provided by a program designed to get veterans and their families into homes, help him with financing and such, the caveat being a 10-year commitment to live there from the veteran. He lived in his office in Washington, his first term. In the 4 years since the end of his first term, he broke his commitment to the vet program and sold that house, bought a house in a prestigious neighborhood on the river, and since sold it for an even more expensive home on the intercoastal. How does a disabled veteran with no generational wealth become rich in 6 years? I bet they all took the money that's been donated to them for their campaigns.

I get texts from the RNC (I'm still a registered Republican), in a poll format: "Will you vote for President Trump in 2024?" There is only a YES box, no NO box. And no place to comment.

If only Ned Beatty was still alive to play him in the movie.

If Belushi was still alive he'd probably do it.

I'm just an fascist man with an indifferent wife
I always break the law, hey hell, I don't pay the price
All I want is to be left alone, in my big Palm Beach home
But why do I always feel
Like I'm in the Twilight Zone?

I always feel like somebody's watchin' me
    And I have no privacy
I always feel like somebody's watchin' me
Tell me is it just a dream?

When I come home at night
I hoard documents behind a door that ain't locked tight
People call me on the phone I'm trying to avoid
Or can the people on TV see me,
    Or am I just paranoid?

    When I'm in the shower,
Can't get enough water to wash my hair
Cause of the EPA, man it so unfair
People say I'm crazy, just a little touched
But maybe my life reminds me of Gotti too much
    That's why...

I always feel like somebody's watchin' me
    And I have no privacy
I always feel like somebody's watchin' me
    Who's playing tricks on me?
    I don't know anymore!

    Are the Bidens watching me?
    Who's watching
Well is the tax man watching me?
    Tell me who's watching
And I don't feel safe anymore, oh why did I lie?
I wonder who's watching me now
    Who?
    The FBI?!

For what its worth - people suddenly seem to do quite well in the stock market once being elected to Congress. What's terrible is that they are typically so late in disclosing transactions, the public can't draft off of their "acumen." Shoot, CSPAN would be a lot more watchable if you saw a live ticker of MoCs tax moves on a real-time basis.

My spidey sense is telling me the GOP is just moving money from one pocket to another so they can cry poor and fundraise.

Might also have something to do with Trump hoovering up all the money and throwing it around like manhole covers - probably holding on to it for legal fees (which he probably won't pay in any event).

Michael Jackson (not the wide receiver) sang backup on that song.

Was wondering the same thing, though I was thinking of "Reflections."
