Yes, I got my fourth amendment rights restored once I completed the terms of the First Offenders Act in September of 2020. I got to cancel out a Trumpist's vote two years ago! So there's nothing on my "public" record to deny me a vote, to serve on a grand jury (!) or illegal search and seizure.

However, if I'm stopped for any reason by an officer or border patrol agent, my rap sheet still shows a felony arrest but with no conviction. I don't have to answer questions about it, can't be assumed guilty or subject to additional scrutiny. But because Canada and Great Britain have tightened rules on people who even have a felony arrest (like a DUI), I have to wait 10 years from the end of my probation to legally cross the border. So the fall of 2030, basically.

I've been told unless you look like a criminal mastermind or do something suspicious, customs doesn't have time to do much more than scan your passport. It's just up to me to determine whether it's worth the trouble of getting escorted back to the U.S. if I get in a traffic accident or smuggle rabbits to Saskatchewan.

EDIT: And just as I'm typing this, some guy on the Twins named "Miranda" steps to the plate! How did the Rights let it get to this?

 

The only time I had a hassle crossing the border was when I came back from a cruise that originated in Amsterdam
That US Customs official saw that and made a thorough search of my car
Fortunately those were my no smoking days (but I did in Amsterdam)
