Not surprisingly, the stock market is going to have a hissy for the rest of the week. Traders hate uncertainty, and without a clear winner -- especially not their Trumpist brethren taking a majority and guaranteeing tax cuts for the wealthy over the next two years -- the markets are roiling. Boo hoo.

I get a couple to three legit polls - and probably a half dozen push polls - anytime there is a statewide race for president/governor or senate and have for the last eight years or so.

This cycle, I got a legit poll during the primary and one during the general.

Except when they're playing Georgia or Florida State. But they have nice colors.

Fair and balanced. After yesterday’s front page which said “Vote to Save Our State” with a picture of a ballot being cast for Zeldin

I saw a headline "Dobbs, denial and Donald" as the three main reasons for the poor GOP showing last night, and that's a pretty good summary. But I'd add a fourth alliteration that some astute folks pointed out this morning: Division.

I think voters on both sides are tired of neither party actually governing the country at this point. The overwhelming feeling I got is that people don't care to hear what's wrong as much as they want to know what that candidate is going to do to fix it. With notable exceptions (hello, SEC states and Ohio), the country wants cooperative government. Enough people showed up to the polls to save Democracy ... for now.

Voters showed they're tired of hearing about 2020 and "the steal." The election deniers, for the most part, got crushed. If the GOP doesn't get rid of Donald like they should have after 1/6, they're going to get smashed in 2024. The Republicans had Biden, inflation and gerrymandering -- and still managed to fumble the handoff.

Voters to Congress: Shut your pie holes, stop the finger pointing and get back to running the country.

Congress to Voters: Lalalalalala. We're not listening.

On the morning of Election Day Plus One 2018, all the talk was of how the predicted Blue Wave amounted to nothing. Then they kept, y’know, counting ballots. I reiterate there is a lot of uncounted vote out there, particularly in the West.

They were both terrible candidates, which I think pushed people to focus more on political parties and issues. If you don't like either candidate, vote for the one who at least claims to support the things you want. Then again, maybe they didn't like that Oz wasn't actually a Pennsylvanian. I have some less pleasant thoughts on why he lost, too, but let's try to be positive.

And this late, uncounted western vote is going to go overwhelmingly GOP in races where Democrats are leading?

Even now y’all can’t resist doomporn.
