If he wins, yeah the GOP is stuck with him. They might now be rooting for the DOJ and/or the Georgia case to solve their problem.

I assume they’d crack down and make sure 12 people aren’t running as long as the did in 2016, when trump was winning every time with 30 percent.

Smartest thing the Dems did in 2020 was quickly fall in line behind Biden after the SC primary to avoid the same thing.

 

The truth is we should (again) have much better candidates than the two projected party front-runners and old white dudes - Trump and Biden. This is the best we can do? Really? And I'm an old white dude.

 

As we inch ever closer to the GOP House being a formality, why haven't they called Boebert's seat? Genuinely asking.

According to the Denver Post up to 7,000 votes are left to count in Pueblo County, 5,000 or so mail-in. Pueblo County voted Dems plus nine in the Senate and governor's race. Brobert has actually done better in the mail-in vote than in the election day vote throughout the district, hence her moving into the lead, but I think the news organizations are concerned the mail-in ballots in Pueblo will break decisively for the Dem. For example, on election night Laxalt was ahead in Washoe County, but the mail-in vote came in at Dems plus 20 or so and moved the county to Dems plus four.

Trump’s urgency to announce also comes in part from wanting to get ahead of a potential indictment in any of the several ongoing criminal investigations into his conduct. He and close associates are under multiple criminal investigations: by the Justice Department in the effort to submit phony electors claiming Trump won key states in the 2020 election; in the mishandling of classified documents recovered from Mar-a-Lago; and by an Atlanta-area prosecutor in the pressuring of Georgia officials to overturn that state’s election results. His company is also in the middle of a trial for criminal tax fraud and the New York attorney general filed a lawsuit that could freeze the company’s operations, already winning the appointment of an independent monitor.

Seems to me the smarter grift is to keep taking donations from the suckers and the orcs on the promise he'll declare.

Without ever declaring.

He can declare in a speech all he likes. Until the paperwork is filed, he's not a candidate, yes?
