Grace and peace to the Cruz household.

Nope. Ohio has gone from reliably uncertain to totally Trumpist. By wide margins. Trump is so despicable and so stupid that he cost his klan two Senate seats. A look at the rest of the regional map suggests this is quite a feat.

Or just maybe (and I know this is a far leap) one’s geography does not determine whether they are good or evil or just an ordinary schlub making uninformed decisions.

Oh, they have all kinds of stuff.

The Pep Band has a two-measure ditty that they played whenever they were on the power play that was so annoying that the coach suggested they play it when the other team was on the power play (they bang on the rails and seats in the same rhythm during play to continue it after the game restarts).

If there's 4-on-4, everyone shouts "Four-play! Four-play!" but holds four fingers up to make sure the joke is PG.

There is at least one banned verse to "No Beer" regarding pot.

The Tech Pep Band is kind of in the LSJUMB idiom. That said, they're entertaining enough that the WCHA invited them to play at the old Final Five as the house band even when Tech didn't make it. The event normally took place around the time of the annual St. Paul St. Patty's Day parade, which the Pep Band showed up at unannounced and uninvited on multiple occasions.

Crossthreading with the sports trivia thread:

What do Joe Manchin and Brock Purdy have in common?

Saw that. I know at places I've done police/fire stories, style was saying an incident took place "in the 1200 block of Main Street."

That's the way to do it. Except for instances in which you're referring to an arrest of a person with a common or potentially common name, in which case many go with the full address in order to avoid the possibility of litigation.

I have no love whatsoever for Ted Cruz, but I pray for his daughter and his family. Clearly she needs help and I sincerely hope she is able to find it somehow.

Well to Ms. Cruz and the daughter….the loser, weak father, no way.

Nah, can’t go there. Some things transcend politics. I wish this on no parent, nor any child.
