    He can have the exact amount of courtesy he showed to Pelosi and her husband.

    So this was the first time in history that no incumbent Senator was defeated for re-election either in a primary or general election. This was the first time since 1934 that the President's party gained seats in the Senate and its number of governors in a midterm election. When a President ties an FDR record, politically he can't be doing all that badly.
