I feel icky discussing any minor/college aged child of a politician or trying to draw any lines between the behavior in question and their parent. One should wish the best for the physical/mental health of every kid, full stop.

 

Of course, but Biden was nominated because he was the best alternative to that insanity and he has done what was expected of him. That approach doesn't work forever, but it was necessary at the time.
