Day after day with no House Speaker:

 

Ordinarily, given the circumstances I would be mildly enthused that a CA rep was in line to be the Speaker; BUT McCarthy rolled over for f*ckface and the rest of the GOP clowns in 2016 in the omnibus bill that benefitted almost everyone tax benefits EXCEPT CA residents, it took away some of our tax benefits. So to him I hope he gets screwed and maybe his voters will discard him.

 

Shouldn't he have gotten a runner on second after the ninth?

As much as I'm enjoying seeing McCarthy humiliated, I also know the Speaker can't be someone who has been neutered of his or her ability to control his own caucus. It's pretty clear he didn't have control heading into this, and for him to get out of it with a gavel would likely make him Speaker in name only. I'm sure some McCarthy's backers know this and will switch to someone else who won't be required to the negotiate with the worst elements of the caucus.

 

Trying to come up with a Hamilton-inspired song to sum up McCarthy's situation made me think of this (but dang is Phillipa Soo cute).
