    If your stance is that the only way for our country to avoid default on its debt is to raise the debt ceiling to allow our government to borrow from new lenders to repay existing lenders, no matter how you frame it, you are admitting that the U.S. is running the world's largest Ponzi scheme.

    If you challenge that characterization, then you have to admit that raising the debt ceiling and increasing our borrowing exponentially isn't the only way to avoid default, you could make a conscious choice to cut spending and/or tax people more.
