In the week or so before Comey's infamous news conference that effectively sank Hillary, there were all sorts of rumor stories that Comey was being pressured to act by unnamed persons in the FBI's New York offices.

And part of that pressure was leaks. Comey was trying to get out in front of those.

The U.S. has never intentionally defaulted on its debt, a track record that has made its Treasury securities a safe haven for investors globally and allowed the government to borrow money at low interest rates.

Prior to 1971, U.S. Federal Reserve notes were obligations to pay each bearer a fixed weight in gold. Nixon unilateral cancelled that convertability and creditors were told that they could not receive any of the gold they were owed. You can call it whatever you want to ty to avoid calling it a default. ... but yeah, the U.S. has intentionally defaulted on its debt.

I was really surprised I had to scroll down 5 graphs to get to this: "This is a blatant act of political discrimination and censorship against Newsmax,” CEO Christopher Ruddy said in a statement that was posted on Newsmax’s website. “The most extreme liberal channels, even with tiny ratings, get fees from AT&T’s DirecTV, but Newsmax and [One American News] need to be deplatformed."

When you offer your feed for free on the Web and a bunch of streaming platforms, how do you turn around with a straight face and tell DirectTV that they should pay you what you want to bring their customers to you? If anything, shouldn't it be the other way around?

This is what it sounds like to me, a dispute over fees vs. content. Newsmax, of course, is going the other way.
