    I doubt sanctimonious was in the conversation. His first instinct might have been "Dagowop Ron," followed by "Garlic Breath Ron." But then he settled on "meatball," because it gives semi-plausible deniability that what he really is saying to the people whose ears are tuned to his dog whistle is, "He's Eye-talian."

    I really don’t mean to rant, but people eat it up because MSM keeps asserting how clever he is and they haven’t lived outside their bubble enough to know any better. As thin-skinned as he is and with so much fodder he presents to work with, he would be absolutely destroyed by the average person clapping back at him.

    The source NYT cites on Gaetz is his attorneys.

    “We have just spoken with the D.O.J. and have been informed that they have concluded their investigation into Congressman Gaetz and allegations related to sex trafficking and obstruction of justice and they have determined not to bring any charges against him,” Mr. Gaetz’s lawyers, Isabelle Kirshner and Marc Mukasey, said in a statement.
