    I went down a rabbit hole the past few days and read some Civil War history. I didn’t realize the Cornerstone speech was basically a white supremacist speech. Then Stevens had the gall to say after the war that his comments were taken out of context or he was misquoted all together? Fuck that guy. The Confederate politicians did a lot of gaslighting along the same lines as today’s Republicans.
