I really wish Ohio and Florida weren't engaged in a "Hold My Beer" competition.

 

Ohio went from “basically Michigan and Pennsylvania” to internet meme in 15 years.

This looks like another charge that Jack Smith can bring with minimal effort. After the 2020 election, Chris Krebs, the Homeland Security director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency announced that it was a clean, well run vote, free of any major problems. Trump fired him over "election fraud" that it can now be proven that he knew was a Big Lie. Krebs can explain the measures that were taken to improve election security and back it up with accurate statistics. Nothing from the Trump side ever has actual facts backing up the bullshit he's asserting.

Looks like he's going to run into a number of statutes regarding firing a federal employee as revenge and for fraudulent reasons. Really good analysis in this video. Basically, this is a straight arrow Republican data guy put in by Trump, who spent from 2016-20 fixing the problems and weaknesses that had been found in the '16 election. He came out after the election and says "We did it! It worked! Good clean election!" and Trump fired him for saying so and then started talking about Hugo Chavez and other nonsense.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired the Department of Homeland Security official who had rejected Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud.

Trump announced on Twitter he was firing Chris Krebs, the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and directly tied it to Krebs’ statement that said there “is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.”

“The recent statement by Chris Krebs on the security of the 2020 Election was highly inaccurate, in that there were massive improprieties and fraud,” Trump said in a tweet that also repeated other baseless conspiracy theories about the election and was flagged by Twitter as “disputed.”


“Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.”

 

All it takes is one to challenge McCarthy's chair. Where it goes from there, who knows, but they put that in the contract when he bought their votes for Speaker.

 

Same with Florida.

The Alabama state R's are about to economic drain Space Force off to Colorado. That's not a normal blunder for them. It's the sort of thing that Richard Shelby would have found a way to smooth over and keep the federal money flowing in.
