She can't do whatever she wants but there are plenty of ways she can ratfuck the trial that wouldn't be appealable. The biggest one would be if she ordered acquittal at the end of the government's case based on a finding that no reasonable jury could vote to convict -- double jeopardy attaches and the government can't appeal. She could also institute a slow enough calendar to delay the start of trial until after the election or inauguration of Trump or another Republican who would appoint a USAG that pardons Trump or ends the prosecution. Or she could take an extremely broad view of attorney-client privilege and a very narrow view of the crime-fraud exception and make evidentiary rulings that are technically appealable but would drag out the proceedings forever as it goes up to the 11th Circuit and back numerous times. And even other evidentiary rulings (ie. her saying something can't come in because it's too "prejudicial" -- while technically appealable -- are decided under an abuse of discretion standard, where appellate courts have a lot of deference to the trial judge's judgment. It's a lot different than a defendant appealing an evidentiary ruling where his/her own due process rights are at issue.

Let her be that blatantly obvious and we'll see how that goes, I guess.

Tone Loc was also great as the other half of the conversation with Jim Carrey’s ass in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

Loc also mentioned Alex from Stroh's. Put some respect on Alex's name, bro.

The U.S. judicial system I've seen lately doesn't bode well for what you're saying.

In federal court I believe the government has to ask. But it's very very very rare. I could only find one case where the 11th Circuit ever did this, in response to multiple reversals of extremely outlandish rulings on sentencing issues in the same case (guy got a 23-step downward departure and effectively was sentenced to 7 days for crimes the guidelines put at between 108-135 months imprisonment, even after the government agreed to a 9-step downward departure that would have resulted in a 43-month sentence). I just don't see the 11th Circuit removing her during this case as something remotely likely to happen. I've seen other cases where the trial judge's conduct was outrageous (like a U.S. bankruptcy judge refusing to recuse himself after the law firm representing one of the parties asked him about his career plans after his impending retirement from the bench and, in essence, dangling a job offer) where the judge didn't recuse. And another case where the judge had been involved on some aspect of the defendant's defense years earlier before taking the bench. The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals didn't remove the judge in that case despite his refusal to recuse himself.

I refuse to let Rogaine ruin the collective hilarity of Phil Hartman, Khandi Alexander and Stephen Root.
