Potential sentences could involve decades in prison -- or more.

Double jeopardy of course does not apply because impeachment, with conviction or not, is not a criminal matter. So his "acquittal" carries no legal weight as well.

Getting beyond charges based on fully public actions, additional charges resulting from forensic investigations and witness testimony could number into the thousands.

 

The fealty is the only qualification.
