Why are we behind other countries? Beyond disbanding conservative opposition groups and never talking about CRT again, how do we catch up?

I'm not legitimizing anything. I'm answering Alma's question about the approach a journalist has to take to write a fair story. Unlike the one that appeared on Weiss's website. Which is why I wrote:

But present groups like this one not only as an expression of rebellion, but of ignorance and fear. (You'd be hard pressed to find rank-and-file moms at these events who could actually define CRT or DEI. The Hitler quote being a good example of the groups' broader cluelessness. ) I think you'd also have to mention race and class when presenting them.

    And what
    are
their actual proposals for academic improvement?

This piece errs in assuming the failure of public schools and assuming the good faith of groups like this, while softballing the worst of their errors and efforts.

Weiss's piece, written by a Fellow from the American Enterprise Institute, is in the tank for the Moms.

But even in a magazine feature, if you want to present them as fascists - even unknowing fascists - you have to provide evidence to support the claim.

    Re: Moms for Liberty

The local chapter president was raising a ruckus about keeping the local school board accountable. She showed up at one of their meetings and started in on that theme during the public comment section. A board member asked her what position she held with her kid’s PTA. She said none. He asked why wasn’t she volunteering to serve with the PTA. She said she was too busy.

Based on this and Tuberville's walkback of the "white nationalists" statement, which he clearly didn't want to do, I suspect the Senator has been taken in hand by a colleague or colleagues (Mitch perhaps?).
