Anyone worried that Trump's "I got bad advice" defense might work: He'd have to testify to use it. There's no fucking way he's testifying.

Whitmer would be an intriguing choice for POTUS in 2028.

I'm wondering based on the media profiles and tweets of these people, who seem to be of the "COVID is the worst thing since the Black Death" belief. And that usually doesn't jibe with the Trumpist manifesto.

No. She's not running. There are a bunch of Dems in the field, but the one with name recognition and support from major party donors is Rep. Elissa Slotkin.

Basically every co-defendant in a conspiracy case ever. Doesn't really work because it's not a valid legal defense, much like ignorance of the law isn't either. He might have a claim against the lawyers who enabled him, but it doesn't let him off the hook.

I don't see how the "he really did believe it" is a defense at all. If I get some whackjob lawyers telling me it's perfectly OK to walk into a bank with a pistol and demand $1m that wouldn't protect me from a bank robbing charge.

    As
Well, if Biden is re-elected in '24, Kamala Harris will either be the incumbent or the heir-apparent VP.

If Biden is not re-elected, there will be no election in 2028.

Her vs Newsom would be a great primary. But that’s if and only if Harris isn’t running.

So here’s the thing about Kamala Harris. If she enters a well-contested primary race and comes out on top, that is great and valuable experience to sharpen her for the general election. Given the depth of the Democratic bench, it bodes well for her and the party. But after 2016, I never again want to see “It’s her/his turn” as the justification for a non-incumbent.
