You mean Kayleigh McEnany didn't post either there or at milktoast.com?

Telling quote from a Texas congressman in a town hall tonight:

“The college kids that come to an event like this: let’s say there’s 50 kids there, there’s probably 40 that don’t agree with what I’m telling them."

At best, Alma is an absolute joke of a person if he actually believes the bullshit he posts here. At worst, he’s a shit-stirring troll.

Can you tell me what the messaging would be if Dobbs hadn’t happened?

We’re lucky we’re facing theocrats and criminals. A normal political party would be eating the DCCC and DNC for lunch right now.

The best Dem ads are coming from a bunch of former Republicans. That’s a problem, and it’s been a problem for a long time. The Republican Party has been chock full of racism, greed and zealotry for most (all?) of my life. But fuck if they don’t nail their messaging.

Average number of criminal indictments per president before Trump: 0.0
Average number of criminal indictments per president now: 1.978
Having Trump as a viable political candidate: priceless

Did Sen. Fetterman have bad ads last year? Did Sen. Warnock? How about Govs. Whitmer, Evers, and Shapiro? There are hundreds of races in every election and in each one, the quality of "messaging" (a vague concept IMO) varies from candidate to candidate without much regard to party. I mean, how're Ron DeSantis's ads going for him? He's a Republican. I have been seeing a lot of ads for the no-hope GOP candidates on Boston TV and all I draw from them is that Gov. Burgrum of North Dakota has the most amazing eyebrows I've seen.

Did ads or messaging matter at all in those individual campaigns? I can tell you, they didn’t in Pennsylvania. It was all about the shambolic candidates the GOP ran. You can only put so much lipstick on a pig.

If a candidate ran on being a “Biden Democrat” in 2023, no one would have any idea what that meant.

That is a messaging problem. There is no unifying purpose —even rhetorical— to his Presidency other than he is not Donald Trump.

That’s good enough for me right now, but if the economy tanks in the next 12 months, I’m not sure it will be for most of the electorate.

That’s not entirely on the Democratic Party. From Twitter:

LEGACY MEDIA: A new poll shows 71% of Americans don’t know what’s in the Inflation Reduction Act. WHY?

ALSO LEGACY MEDIA: Let’s cut off live @POTUS remarks about the Inflation Reduction Act after two minutes to complain about how long economic change takes
