I think suburban white Democrats return to the GOP after Trump is gone, solving most of the party’s identity crisis. They’ve fled to the Democrats as a last resort. Deep down they are still low-tax, white flight consumerists. They just felt embarrassed by Trump for the more superficial reasons.

Never trusted them or their money. Never will.

 

The crazies may not back him, but he might be the best option for what is left of the rest of the party.
