The average Black defendant in a felony matter has a far greater chance of seeing the inside of a prison cell than Trump does.

 

Again, I don't have much faith that whichever non-Trumpy they send up there will be any better. But it would be awfully heartening if most of America told this guy to fuck off and his good polling numbers were a matter of creative polling by the pollsters.

There are several phases to this process.
1) The trials must conclude before the election.
2) He must be convicted of one or more crimes that carry the possibility of incarceration.
3) He must lose the election. (Again.)
4) Judges must sentence him to prison. A considerable portion of the population winces at the thought of a man near his 80th birthday in prison custody. (I understand this reluctance.)
This fourth one may end up being the biggest hurdle to climb. This isn't 1974. It's worth considering what locking him up might inspire his klan to do.
