My experience with the Zombie Activation Sound was that my 5G kicked in and I can now watch Disney+ on the backs of my eyelids.

 

I meant to come back to this. That's just an artifact of way back when when so many more men than women took degrees. It takes awhile for that "inventory" to get rebalanced.

The same thing, on a much smaller scale, was going on re: DEI my last two years at my job. The great push was on to make the "permanent" faculty (i.e., those with or seeking tenure) "look more like our student body" yada yada. To which I and several others responded (essentially) ... are you high? Unless they were willing to get rid of permanent faculty (spoiler: They weren't), it would take decades to pull that off even if we hired only non-whites into those roles ... which, of course, wasn't going to happen, either.

Just when I thought you couldn’t be any bigger of a bastard, here you go. Yeah why bother giving the lower classes (which are disproportionately minorities) a chance to go to school? Why close off a path to greater success and a chance to better themselves and their family? Because the poors (again, which are disproportionately minorities) don’t fit in? Fuck off.
