My favorite part is when the author whines that DeNiro is a “Trump hater.”
    Poor Trump.

so maybe don't tweet about the book, or talk about it.

this is how the market cancels things. If we'd Spaghetti Sauce Man around, it could become more clear, in a single wall of text.

Wolf of Wall Street — a light romp about some cool Wall Street bros.
Taxi Driver — an uplifting tale about Vietnam vets unaffected by war and assimilating seamlessly into the job market and society.

"Wolf of Wall Street" as some piercing criticism of Wall Street has always amused me. The guy was running a pump and dump scheme, a boiler room, the lowest rung on the ladder of any securities scam. Solomon Brothers strikes me as one of the bigger scandals, but making a movie out of manipulation of Treasury sales seems a bit harder to make and wouldn't have a bunch of actors overacting.

I haven't seen the movie to confirm the writer's opinion and doubt he is completely honest. Scorcese makes stories first and has a point of view. And I don't think anyone has those views of the reviewer, but nobody views those two movies as you describe them.

The enduring family trauma behind ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2023/10/20/killers-flower-moon-osage-descendants/

"Margie Burkhart can’t remember a time when she didn’t know about the murders. As a girl growing up in the 1960s, she would sprawl across her bed and listen to her father talking with her mother and aunt around the kitchen table in their small home in Gray Horse, Okla. Their voices carried; there was no sense of secrecy.

Over time, the full story took shape in Margie’s mind:

In 1918, Margie’s aunt Minnie had wasted away of an apparent poisoning. Then in 1921, Margie’s aunt Anna had disappeared and was later found fatally shot at the bottom of a ravine. Three months later, her great-grandmother Lizzie had also died of an apparent poisoning. In 1923, a bombing killed Margie’s aunt Rita and her husband.

By the end of it, Margie’s grandmother Mollie Burkhart and her two children — Margie’s father, James, and her aunt Liz — were the only survivors in their immediate family."

Woke fiction to smear the white man. Sure, Jan.

    That makes Trump smart, right?

Of course, Biden isn't in court for tax fraud, so there's that.

Not to mention 1980s period piece and means of getting a Margot Robbie sex scene on celluloid. Not that I'm complaining.

Jim Jordan is an unyielding combatant,
whether grappling on the mat or in the halls of Congress

    “Fix that subhed, kid.”
    “Yessir, right away.”

whether grappling with his past or prancing in the halls of Congress

“Nice job, kid. You nailed that one.”
