And let's be clear about what Harris means for Biden going forward. He doesn't "need" her on the ticket... but since she's there, any changes better damn well be framed as being her idea.

Biden is traditionally popular with Black voters. Harris is not beloved by Black voters the way Obama was, but the representation has value.

But if the Democrats are seen as passing over Harris in 2024 for Gavin Newsom, good luck with that.

 

Certainly taking the Black vote without their being offered places in leadership would be seen as disrespect and as not honoring their contribution to success. Black women have been a core constituency.

 

Another ridiculous thing about Desantis and him trying to be trump: he can’t pull off the violent rhetoric. He talks about slitting throats, sending troops into Mexico and flat-out murdering migrants at the border. And sounds like a moron when doing so.

Mr. Boot Lifts isn’t so tough without his rubber-stamp Florida legislature.

Not sure I believe that. Don't think there can be any changes when a black/brown woman is a heartbeat away. She leaves he's done.

 

It would be tricky. But if she comes out and says she's leaving the ticket to run for Feinstein's Senate seat, I think it's probably doable.

 

Or if something happens at SCOTUS before the election and Joe nominates her at which point the Senate confirms her.

But that ain't happening: it's POTUS or bust at this point.
