Given the number of them who were arrested after cyber-sleuths poured over the footage and figured out who they are, is Johnson trying to keep that from happening?

 

They agreed to testify as part of the settlement.

It's not like the DoJ does not already have access to all of that tape.

The DOJ has been aided by hundreds of private citizens who scoured footage and reported names and addresses of the people in the videos.

 

Sure. I was just making the point that blurring faces now does nothing to protect the people in the images. It's all kabuki.

I suppose someone might have been recognized at this late date... but I kinda doubt that the people who are looking at what is being released by Johnson would be reporting anyone.
