I want another SJ outing just so I can see the trunk Moddy brings to store a small portion of his shoes. The whole collection could put one of my kids through a state school.

I miss mine. I drove it for two years after I restored it before deciding to sell it around 2004 to fund my master's degree (and, I don't think the apartment manager where I lived at the time liked that I had three cars ('99 Ford Ranger, '62 Buick Special and a '67 Land Rover)). The guy who bought it lived in the same town as my parents, and he said he couldn't wait to use it. He had it for six months and then parked it in his field, where it has sat for the last 16 years. I spent thousands on this restoration and I still see it surrounded by tall grass (along with a host of other cars - clearly this guy is a hoarder) when I drive past. Pisses me off to no end.

    I didn’t know that.

Was the first briefing an actual briefing or a statement? I don’t recall.

I know it was all rather stupid, Spicer arguing about crowd size. Very stupid.

Who was the "best" Trump press sec.? Scaramucci for the limited amount of damage done and his public repentance? Spicer for his great interpretation of the paso doble? Sanders for her deadpan?

Surely there’s a prescription drug that will help Stephen with his flop sweat.

So what should be considered the first official threadjack of the Biden years? Cars or Bernie?

Mooch. Colbert did 2/3 segments on the guy that were as funny as anything Colbert did in the Trump era.

When I was a kid in Atlanta, maybe 18 or 19, I saw an ad in the paper offering a Jaguar XKE for $1,500. I didn't really have it, and I had to figure that a Jag that cheap would not be cheap to make right, but I was curious and went to look at it. This woman had it parked in the side yard with the top down. It had been a beautiful British Racing Green, wire wheels. Now the walnut and leather was all rotted out, and I didn't even want to think about the electrical system, as Lucas Electric was finicky before you poured water over it for years.

Anyhow, she had gotten divorced, and this car was her husband's pride and joy. She got it in the settlement, parked out there with the top down and let it rot in place for three or four years before deciding to get it out of her yard. That's a scary level of vindictiveness.

It’s amazing how that turns out to be the case sometimes.

Beyond that...That sounds like an awesome project! Very cool!

(Reads follow-up post about vehicle in a field)

    That sucks!
