It's also why one constituency that should be in a conservative's corner absolutely hates him: farmers.

That dude is just pissing money away with his quixotic campaign. He's self funded and going to lose in a landslide to Mark Robinson in the primary.

Opinion | The Claudine Gay Debacle Was Never About Merit

Claudine Gay’s resignation this week as Harvard University’s president marks the end of a shameful chapter for the institution. The debacle’s architects promise to make America’s elite institutions great again. They say they pushed out Dr. Gay and, nearly a month ago, the University of Pennsylvania’s president as a warning to the nation’s cultural institutions. How they will continue to wield their influence and if they will succeed depends on how willing we all are to keep buying age-old ideas about merit from power-hungry peddlers.

Al Sharpton says ousted Harvard chief was ‘scapegoat’ in fight against diversity

Conservatives Toppled Two College Presidents. They’re Not Done Yet.

The successful campaign to oust two Ivy League presidents has emboldened Republican lawmakers and their conservative allies, who think they have fresh momentum and a new playbook to reverse what they deem the progressive takeover of American education.

The age of Claudine Gay – and diversity box-tickers – is over

American higher education has become too expensive, its quality too dubious, to justify its bloated, politics-obsessed administration.

The diversity that Claudine Gay championed is noble in principle. It should mean: “Harvard is about excellence, so let’s help more talented people from disadvantaged backgrounds to get in.” Alas, what her disastrous performance suggests instead is: “we’ve pushed our standards so low that now literally anyone can have a go at running this place.”

    The Claudine Gay Affair

Second, as Gay’s defenders made all too clear, the left doesn’t believe that Gay’s critics actually care about plagiarism in obscure academic journals. They have a point. The right-wing muckrakers who helped bring Gay down have never previously shown much interest in the professional norms of scholarly citation. But that’s not the issue. The reason those right-wingers went after Gay is because they saw the whole thing as proof that the left is wildly hypocritical about institutional standards, wielding them to protect friends and punish wrong-thinking enemies. The point is not whether the critics gunning for Gay are sincerely concerned about plagiarism and other academic norms; it’s about whether Harvard and the powers-that-be in the academy were inclined to consistently and even-handedly apply their standards. It became all too clear that they weren’t.

A woman in Florida is suing Hershey's for $5 milion because the Reese's pumpkin she bought at Halloween didn't actually have a cute face on it like the wrapper. It just so happens, the same law firm is suing Burger King because the food in its ads looks bigger than what you actually get.
It's just like the guy who sued Texas Pete because it isn't actually made in Texas. That same law firm has a history of trying to settle with companies for stupid things.
The courts absolutely need to go after these people and any lawyers who take the case.

A Florida woman upset that Reese's holiday-themed chocolates did not feature the same cute designs she claims was shown on its packaging is suing manufacturer Hershey's for false advertisement.
In a lawsuit filed on Dec. 28 in Florida's Middle District Court, Cynthia Kelly sued Hershey's for $5 million, alleging that the company misled buyers with "false and deceptive advertising" on their packaging."This is a class action against Hershey for falsely representing several Reese's Peanut Butter products as containing explicitly carved-out artistic designs when there are no such carvings in the actual products," the lawsuit said.

"Plaintiff would not have purchased the Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins product if she knew that it did not have the detailed carvings of the mouth and/or eyes as pictured on the product label," the lawsuit said.

She's the woman who Stephen Elliot sued for defamation (and she settled for six figures) when she created that spreadsheet that went viral accusing various men in the media industry of sexual misconduct.
