In what might be considered a partial troll, it is rumored around here that a leading candidate to succeed Gay is former Governor Deval Patrick. He's a liberal Democrat and close personal friend of Obama, who's also served as general counsel of Coca-Cola Co. and is currently at that lefty hotbed Bain Capital. He's also Harvard-Harvard Law. Of course, for a total troll, Harvard should pick Obama himself.

I've never understood why schools tap people who have toiled in academia for decades to run a multi-million dollar organization. Politicians make a much better fit - negotiating with disparate parts of a school, and being able to raise gobs of cash.

 

I get plagiarism is the cover and the excuse, but I was specifically curious about this line “Many of them were doing it as part of an attack on plagiarism.”

The first sentence says they don’t care about plagiarism and the quoted sentence says their whole focus is stopping plagiarism.

 

Brain Cramp. I meant that many of them were doing it as an attack on diversity.

 

Wow! It's almost like it was a giant stupid publicity stunt by Meatball!

At least his political career will be over in a few weeks.
