I see the Florida legislature if working on legalizing underage students to work until midnight on school nights. I figure this will spread across MAGA states like calls to support Texas' nullification effort.

 

They are serious assholes, though.
And therein lies the continuing problem.

Taylor Swift could fly around the world 10 times and not be responsible for a fraction of the CO2 emissions of a single coal-burning power plant in Guangzhou or Hyderabad. The entire "carbon footprint" charade was cooked up by the oil companies to deflect attention from their role in the burning of fossil fuels. And though they have made some strides, I think the main reason we're probably climate screwed is because it's pretty hard to feed and power two countries of over a billion people on green energy sources alone.

The obsession of right-wing folks with having a champion in the entertainment industry to make their cause look fashionable extends back at least 25 years, and one could argue that going anti-woke is a viable career strategy for a D-lister. Would we still be talking about Kevin Sorbo or Scott Baio otherwise?

Any time a Congressional or Senate committee lines up to take on their "villains" in one of these circuses like today's Big Tech Smackdown - you wonder who is really served by it. The legislators look like jackasses more often than not, most witnesses are rehearsed enough (Ivy League Presidents excepted) that they don't do any damage - and typically the "impact" of such hearings ends as soon as the gavel sounds with zero bills or changes made to the situation. I do hope somebody brought up Jason Whitlock's recent "mishap" with banner ads though - that would have been funny.

My comment had nothing to do with whether somebody was right-leaning or left-leaning. It's a simple human truth, and has nothing to do with politics.

This is the problem with this election and everything connected to it (see immigration/border bill issues currently going on): Everything, everyone thinks, must be being said or done because they're on the right or on the left.

Well, that's not so. And it shouldn't be so.

 

To give a fuck about something, you first have to realize/know something. No, they don't know or realize how dumb they look.
