So does all this mean Donald Trump and his cohorts didn’t behave in a corrupt fashion in Georgia?

 

None if this affects the underlying facts.

But if they are successful in getting Willis and her office removed, it could very easily kill the case. Georgia has an arcane process for reassigning cases when a local DA can't do it (usually due to a conflict of interest) and the person in charge of that has already shown a willingness to drag his feet by simply not acting. Or they could assign it to a prosecutor who would dismiss it. Even if they assign it to someone who is gung-ho, that person will need time to get up to speed.

The real benefit for Trump here is it plays into his tried and true tactic in legal cases of delay, delay, delay. This sideshow has already slowed down the Georgia case by a couple of months, if not more.

He's never made any attempt to appeal to anyone but his base. I think it's one of the reasons the polling is such garbage. The non-cult members will start to listen to his shit again in the late summer/fall and remember why they hate the fucker.

It also lines up with the fact he's consistently underperforming in the primaries by 8-10 points. The non-maga voters who are getting a load of his crap aren't going down that road again, in large numbers.
