The loans will be collateralized. Between his golf clubs and resorts and New York City real estate, he easily has at least $1 to $1.5 billion worth of real estate -- legit valuations in today's market -- he can borrow against. Anyone lending to him will be have that collateral backing their loan, making it a relatively low risk, high reward (in multiple ways) loan.

What the lifting of the ban does is save him from having to sell off real estate into a pretty weak commercial real estate market.

It's a good thing for him.

The Supreme Court is going to take up Trump's immunity case.

Arguments on the absolutely laughable trump claims of immunity on April 22. And who knows on when the ruling will happen?

Seems highly likely this could get pushed past November. What a fucking farce.

And that's why Gaza is a gift for Republicans. The "yay for Palestine" voting bloc would probably like for the United States to force Israel to stop rampaging through the region and killing thousands of Muslims as, at minimum, collateral damage. The problem is there's no nice way for them to do that without giving Hamas, which constitutes a clear and present danger and an existential threat to a Jewish state, time to regroup. But neither side is interested in catering to the other's problem.

A bigger farce would be SCOTUS ruling the POTUS does have immunity from being held accountable for interfering in our election process.

Ruling has to be in by last week of June at the latest. Judge in case has said both sides get three weeks for prep, then jury selection.

The stays remain in place until the ruling, and there will be more inevitable delays. Highly skeptical it happens before the election.

They should hear this, because it’s a former president making an extraordinary claim and it shouldn’t end at an appeals court.

They also have shown no sense of urgency. Never mind that Jack Smith tried to get them to hear it pre-emptively, they could have even gotten the ball rolling a week or two ago if they had acted decisively. I can’t imagine what shitshow has been going on behind the scenes at that clown show.

You could well be right, but there are no scheduled delays,, so any delays that happen aren't inevitable.

Every lever will be used to make sure Trump doesn’t face a conviction before Election Day. He will never face a real consequence in his life. Maybe the real estate portfolio has to be sold once he dies and the final strands come unraveled. But that doesn’t hurt anyone but his kids, and he no more gives a shit about them than the rest of us.

    Evil wins.
