    John Kasich.
    Definitely conservative, but not a right-wing whack-job.

That lady is a ignorant as RFKJ.

He has no path to win, and he's said so. He's running to get trump elected and to glorify is misplaced ego.

His Jan. 6 and vaccine stances should be enough to keep any Dem or left-leaning indy from voting for him.

Elected by a margin of 280 votes, the AG won’t enforce the 1864 law.

Yeah, probably. 40 years ago. I doubt its a coincidence that that was when right-wing radio took over AM and the fairness doctrine was repealed.

They loved the abortion issue when they could scream and yell and do nothing but raise money off it. Because screaming and yelling but doing nothing is all they know.

Also, everything Steve Daines said is bullshit.

They haven't really lost enough yet to change. I suspect that's partially because Trump's cult of personality brings out the Racist Uncle vote - people who otherwise don't vote - and partially because they've gerrymandered the map in a lot of places. Like, here is the district of Dan Crenshaw (TX). It seems like the abortion issue is really, really bad for them though, even in deep red southern places, so maybe underperforming in 2024 would finally get them to try things like "running on issues that are popular."

And just a reminder. When Republicans say a 15-week ban, they don’t mean all states have to allow abortions up to 15 weeks. They say states can still imply their bans if they wish, and states that permit abortion would have to limit them to 15 weeks.

But that's what I'm thinking - the current iteration of the GOP - Trump aside - has pushed "conservatism" (really just pro-GOP thought) to the nth degree, they've gerrymandered (sure the Dems do it too) and worked to restrict or make voting as burdensome as possible to the point now where there is nothing left but to actually moderate their policy stances to make them more amenable to more voters.
