Needed more diversity, so they paid for it. Trump DEI.

Visited my parents for mother's day and of course the old man brings up politics. I redirect, but then he asks my opinion of the Trump trial in New York, and I can't help myself because I do find it fascinating. Specifically he asks what I think the jury will do, and I tell him juries are difficult to predict, but the case is going extremely well for the prosecution, that they've built a much stronger case than I was anticipating and I think Trump is in real peril of being convicted. Of course I included caveats that the case isn't over, Michael Cohen's testimony is make or break, and the defense may very well put on evidence that changes my view.

His response: "Isn't that just wishful thinking on your part?"

The Fox News brain rot is so infuriating.

I think they're in danger of OJing the case, bringing up so much irrelevant minutiae that the jury is bored out of its mind and loses sight of where the crime was. Saving grace is that they're not sequestered, which would really piss them off.

I disagree. I think they've struck a good balance between getting important details in that fit their theory of the case, while keeping it moving and spacing out the minutiae between compelling witnesses. This has to be about the most interesting/entertaining financial crime from the perspective of the jury box in the history of financial crimes.

More importantly, the OJ case lasted 8 months. This one looks like it will be over soon - potentially by the end of the week.

That's wicked unfair to Trump, he's preparing for his kid's high school graduation.

At this point, the hell with anyone who votes for Trump or sits this out. I don’t care how “discouraged” you are.

Just such fealty that he gets sitting senators to sit in a courtroom so they can give slobbering press conferences praising Dear Leader during breaks.
