Dumb take.

Trump disqualified himself years ago.

Thursday night's debate was nowhere near one of his worst nights. It may very well have been - based on the standards by which that criminal is judged - his best debate.

Trump is Bad Man. We get it, group of metro journalists. Everyone has gotten it for many years. Bad Man's going back to the White House if Biden doesn't step away.

 

Can I push them off the ledge? Seems like it might be fun.

 

Team Biden is failing miserably spinning this as "one bad debate." That they say they've never discussed him stepping aside - if true - should be a disqualifier given the stakes that they continue to trumpet that "democracy is at stake." Not even discussing it? Whether he's the best chance even before the debate? People saw what they saw.

 

And yet the party of law and order cannot rouse itself to cut loose its convicted felon insurrectionist. [shrug emoji goes here]

 

Oh, good Lord.

It's June. It's fucking June.

 

So the D's are supposed to trot out a candidate who has not won a single primary and is not on any of the ballots? A candidate who has zero campaign funds (which cannot legally be transferred to a different candidate) four months and a week before the election?

Add that if that candidate is anyone but Kamala, the Black vote, and particularly the Black female vote which is a key D demographic, will stay home in droves.

That's a Republican's wet dream.

If the D's were going to make this move it had to have been done long since.

 

A country founded on slavery and extermination of indigenous peoples should not punished by having a racist, xenophobic bigot as POTUS. Find another way.

 

Because Thursday morning everything was leaning that way anyway and now the chances that Biden can recover enough to not just win but carry enough swing states by enough margin to protect Democratic House and Senate candidates is wishful thinking.

 

The coup already happened ... and it didn't work out for them.
