The thing about Harris - and why Biden's move had to be made - is that she will get people who would have voted for Biden, to volunteer. People who might not have voted at all to vote. This still will be a turnout election and with the Senate and House in play - every vote is crucial.

Since the Alternate Facts Lady is saying this, I’m glad to see that she admits Harris speaks well, works hard and should be the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer.

Good on your daughter and friends but they are exceptions. This fall I will have about 75 voting-age students. Three of them will vote and at least two of the three will be Trumpers. The rest won’t give a shit.

Republicans are less than 30 percent of the country. Democrats are less than 30 percent of the country. Everyone else is more than 40 percent. The Democrats should have a huge built in advanatge. ... due to Donald Trump. During his administration, people leaning toward them increased, even if they didn't run out and register as Democrats.

The Democrats have completely lost that over the last four years, and despite Donald Trump being the opposing candidate (what people ran from in 2020), you now have millions of people who want to retch. That should be telling them something, but they are who they are.

The 20 or 25 percent of the country that was gung ho for Joe Biden that you think is going to volunteer for Kamala Harris is insignificant, whether they get fired up for her or not. OK. She gets their votes. Trump gets 20 or 25 percent of the loonies who go to to his rallies.

She needs the "everyone else" group to win. I honestly don't think she is going to be able inspire them -- she is running as an incumbent when there is widespread discontent, and on top of it, she has the potential to rub people wrong in a way similar to Hilary Clinton (although I can't imagine her becoming quite that unlikable).

She can still win, but it won't have anything to do with her. She needs Donald Trump to remind people how much of a dick he is, and hope that despite all of her negatives, they hold their nose and pull the lever against him (not necessarily for her). It's not a given that will happen. She's going to be that unpalatable to millions of people.

So far the sheet music for the right wing choir seems to be that Kamala Harris is hopelessly unqualified to be president and also she should be immediately promoted to the role.

Same as Biden, she needs to convince a few hundred thousand people in 6-7 states.

It was going to be close if it’s Harris, Biden or anyone else. Because that’s the way the country is and that’s the way our system is.

FFS, he does that EVERY DAMN TIME he gives a speech or posts on that shitty social media site of his. But it gets shrugged off by the national media as Trump being Trump.
