Perhaps it was necessitated by the late candidate switch, but I am pleased to see Harris willing to throw just as many punches Trump’s way as the rest of the all-star revue.

Trump has to WIN voters. His base isn't enough. And everything I'm seeing out of the GOTV stuff in the last week is that all of the enthusiasm is on the blue side. Trump is very comfortable spouting his bullshit in front of people he knows will vote for him no matter what. He's not turning any undecided voters in his favor. It's all about whether the hesitant Biden voters (raises hand) will come out in November. And he and Vance hammering on women -- who, by the way, outnumber men in this nation -- is not helping. There is reason for optimism, that's all I'm saying.

I’m from Alabama and still keep up with the news from Tennessee. And even with that background, rural Missouri astonished me with the batshit crazy governor’s primary billboards, each one topping the last in performative outrage. If I had kept driving past St Louis, I have no doubt I’d have found one openly advocating lynchings before I reached the Iowa line.

No clue. And I didn’t bother to Google, I was more concerned with the generation schedule out of Table Rock’s dam and what fly I needed to be throwing.

    I remember loving Uncle Joe.

I can get behind a wonderful Uncle Tim.

Walz would be a fun campaigner.

I was very concerned that Biden dropping out would feed the MSM’s typical “Dems in disarray” storyline, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Seems like there’s been a lot more focus on the Dems’ recent enthusiasm instead of punditry focusing on the late switch. Let me hope it continues.

One thing I'll never grasp: Biden kept Trump's Postmaster General. Son of a bitch is still on the job. He's got the power -- in theory -- to make mail-in ballots disappear or get delayed past state deadlines.

I've lived in Alabama for thirty-five years, and Texas and Georgia before that. I've seen racist and crazy, big time - and Missouri looks batshit to me.

They handled it well. Biden wanted to make separate announcements of his abdication and his endorsement of Harris. But they came on the same day and were followed in short order by the endorsements of other prominent Democrats. You know the fucking Trumpist national media wanted nothing more than to proclaim chaos.

Hey, he spent one year playing golf at his own properties on the taxpayers' dime.
