I guess I don't really understand what the upset with NABJ leadership is about. Are they mad that Trump was brought in? Because in any normal such case, with any normal such interview, that would be considered "a big get," and not a bad thing. Is it upset that he was brought in but Harris wasn't at the same time? I'd argue that perhaps she could be brought in at another time, and that handling them separately puts the focus on them properly, which is what has been needed in the case of Trump all along.

He needs to be taken to task, inexorably, and seen and known for what he is, clearly and without argument, and that interview was one of the few times that has happened in this election cycle. That was why Trump and his crew were so bothered, and went, "Uh, oh," instead of "Whew, who!"

The NABJ interview was an important reminder of Trump’s foul thinking and a useful public service. But I won't pretend to understand how personally painful that must have been to the people in the room to sit there and be denigrated like that; to have your identity and your professionalism slashed at by a deranged racist that has 45 percent of the country or better in his corner.
