We have a guy with multiple convictions as the other party's nominee. Not excusing DUIs, but people now view them as an "oh, shit, that happened" moment vs. disqualifying like it would've been 25 years ago.

Far better than Cardboard Cutout Tim Kaine.

I know it's gamesmanship, but we can be better than to point and snicker at anyone having a bullet whiz by their head.

Remember when it was revealed on the weekend before the general election W. had a DUI in his past? Or as I said to our editor, "They finally found something, and it's not that great."

But agreed on taking a DUI lightly.

He's about to become the most famous Minnesota governor since Jesse Ventura.

As long as Walz doesn't turn into a Palin-esque train wreck, the VP pick doesn't matter. He won't win any states for her. Same as Vance. It's about the person atop the ticket ... unless they pick a Palin.

Yeah, the idea that a VP pick will deliver a home state seems silly to me. Paul Ryan didn't help Romney win Wisconsin. Harris came from a state that was firmly in Biden's pocket. Same with Pence/Trump. He was never losing Indiana.

At least Harris doesn’t spend the next two weeks answering questions about her VP’s stance on Israel, on protesters on college campuses, on school vouchers and about the time he brought a known shitheel onto his staff then had to pay $300,000 for a sexual harassment complaint.

Exactly. Sometimes you lay up for par and move on to the next hole.

That's what HRC did. It backfired.

Harris is a little more cognizant of her strengths and weaknesses, but it should be noted.

I like Walz, I think he's relatable to a big chunk of voters in the Midwest. DUI might even help.
