I’m really not sure what corner she’s trying to occupy. Next thing you know, she is going to tell us that Walz thinks that Santa Claus isn’t white.

The greatest weakness of the Dems is also its greatest strength: Diversity of people and views. They’ve managed to bring people into the tent and let it be understood unless you’re a crook or hopelessly old you have a place. That leads to problems. The Squad got elected to be the hyper progressive voice the big city youth want. And then you balance that with a guy like Biden who is more of a realist. It leads to disagreements and the Dems like to let it fly in public.

Contrast that with the Republicans who are aggressively restricting who enters the tent. They have more unity of purpose because most everyone who disagrees is either gone or too scared of being gone.

For both political parties, there needs to be a modernization of the system. Republicans need have the big fight we’ve all known is coming but has been avoided because they are bending knee to a cult leader. The extreme wing and the moderate wing need to have a knock-em-out, drag-em-out fight that might force the formation of two parties. Meanwhile the Dems need to reconcile the Bernie faction, which has valid points but wants to move to fast, with the rest of party.

It also depends what the Republicans do over the next four years. If Trump wins, the Dem fractures are held off. Loses but the party stays crazy, the same. Loses and the Romneys take over, we might see the extreme wing splinter off.

So he's as good at political analysis as he is at picking winners on Fox's pregame show? (Negative 77 units last season.)

Your daily reminder that the God who supposedly loves babies enough not to want them aborted also frequently gives cancer to those same babies because he’s still mad that a talking snake suggested to a naked chick that she should eat some fruit from a special teee.

I was thinking about this driving in today: Tim Walz's family is a snapshot of this country in 2024. Mom's a teacher, dad was a teacher before he got into politics. One kid has tattoos and the other has special needs. There are a lot of families that have a similar makeup. Contrast that with the opponents on the other side where the families range from so friggin' weird to douchey. I hope this resonates enough to turn into votes.

This is the way I felt when I first heard him speak a couple weeks back.

If the "Romneys" take over, the GOP is never winning a presidential election again.

They've won one of the last four elections. Lost the popular vote four times in a row.
