Does Shumer in fact get to decide which bills to vote on? Why aren’t they voting on the backlog?

Not just *both* sides, but every side.

That's bold, Cotton. Let's see how it works out for him.

I have to think there are Republicans who could take Cruz down in a primary. RC Slocum, Chuck Norris, Coach Fran, John Rich who probably are half as smart as Cruz and do twice as good of a job.

When you "install" a Democratic government, it's not a Democratic government.

And here are the US definitions anyway.
Democratic government = they do what we want. Yay, freedom!
Totalitarian regime = they don't do what we want. Boo, dictators!

Beto against Cruz the first time felt like a movement, not just a campaign. Hell, I was invested in it even though I don't live in Texas. It just seems like — and this might be my pessimistic nature talking — there's no way to get that energy back in a run against the same guy. Add in Beto's less than great performance as a presidential candidate, and I just don't see it. And I'll believe Texas turns purple not a moment before it actually happens.

Beto would not be my first choice; that would be whichever Castro brother doesn't run for governor. But he's still a fine choice and a better one than they put up against Cornyn.

I don't hate anybody — not really — but I'd happily take a Louisville Slugger to Hawley.

For whatever reason, Texas has one of the most dismal voter turnout rates in the nation. It could easily be the next Georgia.

Give him a USFL verdict. Yeah, they may have fucked up, but he only deserves a dollar, trebled to three bucks.

It'll have to be a Latinx surge in Texas, rather than the Black one in Georgia. That's the real untapped juggernaut.

Initial approval poll from Reuters has Biden at 57 percent, Disapproval just 32 percent. Obama reached that number after the 2016 election - stunned he didn't reach it after bin Laden was eliminated.
