Probably Haley wins the nomination and beats Biden on a wave of MAGA grief, and we get about 75% of Project 2025.

ADD: Kinda like LBJ got re-elected on a wave of Kennedy grief and we got most of Project 1965, which most people liked better. That's because it included the VRA, Medicare, Medicaid and Head Start among other programs.

No you do not have to have six years of college to provide child care services. That’s not remotely why people aren’t going into the field. There’s a shortage of workers because the pay is utter crap. Even undocumented migrants would rather spend a day in the bean field than work for the pittance day care workers get.

As for those other regulations he’s turning his nose up at? Those are in place to reduce the odds of someone killing or crippling your child. Same reasoning behind background checks, because that’s one of the roles where the fabled groomers actually will seek to get in, unlike the circulation desk at your public library.

My ex-mother-in-law ran a home day care for God knows how many decades, and even in Alabama she was subject to regular DHR inspections. And she was OK with that because she did things the right way and wanted that known in the community.

If these people want to be blatantly lied to and led around by the nose, it’s between them and their therapist. But the rest of us shouldn’t be dragged into hell for the sake of their neuroses.

 

The hospital closest to Alabama’s state capitol is in default and may be going tits up. If you think this is enough to persuade our GOP overlords to accept Medicaid expansion, I assure you it is not.

He’s preaching to his choir. No one on the fence is going to any of his rallies. He’s not gaining votes. For every insane comment he makes he loses independents. The dumb shit just doesn’t realize if he would dial down the crazy and hateful shit he would have won in 2020.

 

Sadly, I looked that up too after the shooting. I was not surprised.

 

Those assholes on Goat Hill have good insurance, and Birmingham is only an hour away. They got theirs, screw the rest.
