    Ran across an episode of Card Sharks from the late 70s-early 8Os. They asked 100 people if they would object to a single president living in the White House with his girlfriend and 56 said they would.

    Today, more than 70 million idiots wouldn’t object to a felonious rapist, serial cheater in the White House.

    It is true that the social-welfare state originated well before WWII, But u expanded a lot after WWII. I don't think it was as much a reaction to the disruptions of WWII as the suffering of people during the Depression of the 30's.
